This tea scoop is shaped with a flowing, elongated form that emphasizes control, balance, and ease of handling. The gently curved body guides loose leaf naturally into the scoop, while the tapered opening allows tea to be transferred cleanly and accurately into a teapot or gaiwan. Its proportions are measured and deliberate, designed to support calm, precise movements during tea preparation rather than visual excess.
03 / FINISH
The scoop is carved from dense natural wood, selected for its stability, warmth, and fine grain. The surface is left minimally finished, allowing the texture and tonal variation of the wood to remain visible and tactile. Over time, repeated handling and contact with dry tea leaves gradually deepen the surface, developing a soft patina shaped by touch and use. The material brings an organic counterbalance to ceramic and metal tools within the tea setting.
Cherry wood and lacquer bring together the warmth of carved timber and the quiet depth of a dark finish.
